the Beauty & Romance of Truth

Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep, a poem by Mary Frye.

The sorrow & loss of death is obviously often a troubling thing but the romantic defiance in this poem, the aesthetic of truth, it’s effects can be phenomenal- soothing & the reality adventurous.

I could show you in on the use of the iambic pentameter here but I won’t- the beauty & perfection of this is so very far from technical!

It’s a powerful thing I think poetry, like glimpses of the naked soul. Uplifting. Inspiring. That willingness to share at times what is your innermost self.
