Windows and Wings

If you have seen Up! you may be familiar with flying houses. In the hands of French photographer¬†Laurent Chehere, they become fliers deciding where to go next.¬†We always imagine our house as a stable building with roots and its place in the universe. We cannot pack our bedroom and take it with us on a vacation. We cannot enjoy our couch in Spain. But in Chehere’s pictures, houses float in the sky, who knows why.

He shows us his poetic vision of weary houses, emerging from the anonymity of their streets to show us their hidden beauty.

Houses become isolated objects and we see them from an original perspective.

Are they going somewhere? Are they just asking for our attention?
