Shifting Perspectives thru Cut/Paper/Art

article-image

Fine artist, Eric Standley, transforms paper into intricate stained-glass-style drawings with a mathematical precision. Each piece takes months to complete, incorporating drawing after drawing, laser cutting and in-depth planning of perspective and space. He is an Assistant Professor of Studio Art at Virginia Tech University, and cites Danish philosopher Kierkegaard (who explored the idea of the individual and the value of personal choice and commitment) as an influence of his. Without a doubt, Standley’s commitment to his construction results in artistic pieces with such depth that you can’t help but want to look from every angle.

Enjoy!
